Perhaps the most common mechanical reason for your heat pump blowing hot air is low refrigerant. The vast majority of the time, low refrigerant is the result of a leak somewhere in the system. The refrigerant in the heat pump captures the heat inside your home (or outside in the winter) through the system’s indoor coil.
