The best application method is with a trowel or putty knife. However, you can use a caulking gun, brush, or roller. Apply the mastic to all seams, gaps, and mounting locations in supply and return ducts as well as joints in metal, fiberglass and flexible ducting. The mastic does take a while to dry.
