A fan coil unit (FCU), or vertical fan coil-unit (VFC), is a device that uses a coil and fan to heat or cool a room without ductwork. Air moves over the coil and the coil heats or cools the air before returning it into the room. What is the difference between a fan coil unit and an air handling unit?
