After having the AC turned off for some time, turn on the fan to increase the speed at which the ice thaws. Once your AC is done thawing and no more ice remains, wipe away any excess water that remains on your evaporator coils so the unit doesn’t freeze up again. Wiping down the coils will also prevent the buildup of odors.
